At the 30,000 sq ft Sloomoo Institute Atlanta, the team developed a new strategy for the space and narrative experience, to ensure the vibrancy of the experience.
Special experiences dependant upon custom lighting, movement capture, projection, acoustical, or water-related activities are housed in fully enclosed volumes, or ‘buildings-within-the-building’. This then leaves the leftover space between each one of these buildings as a sort of mini streetscape that can be populated with new moments of play, activity, and engagement with Slime.
The result is a microurbanism, where between these special, jewel-like spaces are large plazas filled with vats of slime, slingshots, step-and-repeat walls, and a large DIY Slime-making plaza. This both extends the ethos of the Sloomoo Institute's purpose of ’creating joy’, but in a new and novel way from its two sister locations in New York and Chicago.
Sloomoo Institute is the manifestation of sensory play into a space and narrative; for the purposes of reconnecting people with each other and the visceral experience of playing with slime
