In Chicago, the existing site’s exposure to the River North neighborhood and daylight on three sides gave us a new and special condition to work with.
As such, we organized the narrative by connecting a series of ‘voids’ or expansions in the pathway. These larger expenses are ‘discovered’ after rounding a corner, peeping through a window, or viewing a new experience on the oblique, out of the corner of your eye. This makes for a kinetic sensibility of movement, which combined with the unique lighting, tinted windows, and eccentrically exquisite objects, showcases Sloomoo Institute Chicago as a one of a kind experiential retail and museum space.
