Method Design collaborated with New York Road Runners on their reconsideration of their public-facing RunCenter; the hub of New York City’s thriving running community.
The RunCenter sits just south of Central Park, where the New York Marathon was founded and originally hosted, at the heart of New York’s running community.
The center combines a gallery to NYRR’s over-50 years of running focused events and artifacts, a public assembly space for lectures, panels, and podcasts, a locker and stretching area for runner meetups, a New Balance RunHub store, and a reconfigured bib-pickup area.
Runners of all ages, sizes and abilities come here to rest, stretch, use the restroom, fill up their water bottle, use a locker, and get informed on NYRR's running clubs and programs. A respite from Manhattan, the RunCenter is truly one of a kind.
Taking a cue from NYRR’s “Believe in Every Step” initiative, the RunCenter is a unique, welcoming space for New York’s running community in the heart of New York
